ISSCT Paper Topics

As was stated in the intoductory note, with the possible exception of sections such as Breeding, Entomology and Pathology, there have been continual revisions to the paper classification system. Agriculture, a dominant section in the earlier proceedings, was dropped after 1965 and replaced by more specific subject headings. Several sections, such as Statistics or Irrigation were tried and then dropped again [and sometimes tried again!].

We have mapped out below the topics as we have used them. Remember that they do not necessarily exactly match the official section headings. Four of the Topics have very few papers in them: Biotechnology [4 papers], Environmental [4] and Fertiliser [3] all come from the 1995 Congress and Statistics [5] comes from the 1971 one.
